Delhi metro submits revised DPR for second corridor
2022-09-07
The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation has submitted a revised detailed project report for the Lucknow Metro's second corridor. The DPR is expected to be submitted to the Uttar Pradesh government for approval and further clearance for the centre. The 11.8 km long stretch with 12 stations, seven of which are underground, is expected to provide significant relief to local residents while also easing vehicular traffic movement. The revised DPR has hiked the total cost of the project by Rs 10 billion due to the price hike of raw materials such as steel, iron, cement, transportation and other miscellaneous. The total cost of the project has been estimated to be Rs 58 billion which will be funded 50 per cent by central and state governments on a 60:40 ratio, while the remaining 50 per cent would be borrowed likely from European Investment Bank (EIB), who earlier in the April month had reportedly expressed their desire to fund metro projects in the state.
