Goa in line to get a new airport

The first test flight took place at Goa's Mopa International Greenfield Airport, under the supervision of officials from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). The officials used an IndiGo aircraft that taxied down the runway for the purpose. GMR Airports subsidiary GMR Goa International Airport built the airport (GGIAL). It is based on a public-private partnership (PPP) model that includes design, build, finance, operate, and transfer (DBFOT). This airport will be a full-service facility, serving both domestic and international passengers as well as freight. Among the services provided by the airport are an integrated passenger terminal building, a cargo terminal, emergency services, flight catering, vehicle parking, reserved services, and aircraft fuelling infrastructure.
