Railways Seeks GST Solution for DFC Payouts

Indian Railways is actively searching for alternatives to circumvent the impending Goods and Services Tax (GST) on payments related to the Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC) project.

This move comes as the government plans to impose GST on various services rendered by the Railways, including those connected to the DFC.

The DFC is a significant infrastructure initiative aimed at enhancing freight transportation efficiency in the country.

Railway authorities are concerned that the introduction of GST on these payments may lead to increased project costs and potentially hinder the progress of the DFC.

To counteract this potential setback, the Railways is engaging in discussions and negotiations with the government to find a workable solution.
