Indian Company Wins Contract for Hybrid Power Plants in Sri Lanka
According to a senior minister, an Indian company has been awarded the contract to build hybrid recycled power plants on three islets in Sri Lanka's northern Jaffna district.
The cabinet meeting on Monday decided to award the contract to U Solar Clean Energy Solutions (Pvt) Ltd to build hybrid recycled power plants in Delft, Nainathivu, and Analathivu, according to cabinet spokesman and mass media minister Bandula Gunawardena.
The decision came after a competitive bidding process that was limited to Indian suppliers only and was initiated after India provided a USD 11 million grant for the project.
According to a cabinet note, the contract was awarded to U Solar Clean Energy Solutions after a thorough evaluation by the cabinet-appointed procurement committee.
