NHAI unveils flyover project to reduce travel time on Delhi-Jaipur-Ajmer route

The tender process for the project is anticipated to begin in January 2025. This initiative aims to ease traffic for approximately 1.25 lakh travelers who navigate this area daily. Currently, during peak hours, many commuters face significant delays, often waiting multiple signal cycles, with some experiencing wait times of up to 198 minutes.
The improvements are projected to significantly reduce traffic jams and enhance travel times for commuters on the vital route connecting Ajmer, Jaipur, and Delhi.
NHAI Project Director Ajay Arya announced that the DPR for the flyover and underpass will be completed by next month. Traffic congestion is a persistent issue at this location, but officials believe the new structures will provide a lasting solution.
Discussions with relevant agencies have been conducted to ensure smooth implementation. Vehicles traveling from Delhi to Bhankrota and Ajmer currently use an existing flyover, while traffic from Ajmer, Bagru, and Bhankrota heading to Sodalala and Purani Chungi will continue along the same route.
This project, overseen by NHAI, is expected to take approximately one to one and a half years to complete. A new flyover will be constructed parallel to the 200-foot culvert to facilitate traffic from Ajmer, Bagru, and Bhankrota heading toward Delhi and Sikar, stretching over 1,600 meters.
