Paradip, Kandla Among Ports To Be Developed As Hydro Hubs
The government has made a strategic move towards harnessing opportunities in the burgeoning hydrogen export sector, with plans underway to transform three key ports in the country into Green Hydrogen hubs. This initiative, driven by the Ministry of Ports, Shipping, and Waterways, seeks to propel India into a prominent position in the green hydrogen market.
The selected ports, namely Kandla, Paradip, and Tuticorin, have been earmarked for this transformative endeavor. The primary objective is to develop the necessary infrastructure within these ports to facilitate the entire spectrum of activities related to green hydrogen, including production, storage, handling, and bunkering. Additionally, the focus extends to green ammonia and its derivatives.
This forward-looking initiative is a testament to India's commitment to exploring and seizing opportunities in the renewable energy sector, aligning with global efforts to transition towards more sustainable and environmentally friendly energy sources. The development of these Green Hydrogen hubs is poised to play a pivotal role in shaping India's role as a significant player in the green energy marketplace.
