Maharashtra, Finland Advance Circular Economy Partnership

Maharashtra and Finland have strengthened their partnership to promote circular economy solutions at the Maharashtra Circular Economy Conclave, jointly organised by the Consulate General of Finland in Mumbai and MMRDA ahead of the World Circular Economy Forum 2026.

Shri Rajesh Aggarwal, IAS, Chief Secretary, Government of Maharashtra, Dr Sanjay Mukherjee, IAS, Metropolitan Commissioner, MMRDA, and Erik af Hällström, Consul General of Finland in Mumbai, highlighted the role of circular economy practices in supporting sustainable growth, climate resilience and resource efficiency.

The conclave brought together policymakers, industry leaders, innovators and sustainability experts from India and Finland to discuss collaborations in waste-to-value solutions, clean technology, sustainable infrastructure, recycling, energy efficiency and future-ready urban development. The partnership aims to support greener cities, stronger economies and long-term sustainability.
