We are shifting from diesel to electric and hybrid machines

Sagar Sawlani, CEO – SAARC, Dingli AWP India

Dingli has a strong presence in access equipment globally. How do you see the Indian market evolving?
India’s infrastructure growth is directly driving demand for aerial work platforms. Dingli’s range spans from 5 m to 44 m, covering scissor lifts, vertical masts and boom lifts. As infrastructure activity expands across construction, industrial maintenance and warehousing, we see sustained growth potential and expect India to become a significant market over the next few years.

What differentiates Dingli’s products in a competitive AWP market?
Dingli follows a global manufacturing philosophy. We integrate internationally proven components such as engines and systems from European and US suppliers, including Kubota and Rexroth. This ensures consistent performance and reliability aligned with global standards, while continuing to evolve product features to suit local applications.

How is Dingli balancing quality with price sensitivity in India?
Indian customers expect both quality and competitive pricing. By leveraging global components at scale, Dingli is able to maintain strong value positioning. At the same time, our focus is not only on product cost but on the total ownership experience, including service responsiveness and lifecycle assurance.

Service appears to be a key pillar of your market approach. Can you elaborate?
Customer confidence depends on uptime and long-term support. We offer extended warranty options of up to five years, along with assured buyback values at defined intervals. In addition, 24×7 customer support is a core part of our offering. The objective is to reduce ownership risk and build long-term relationships rather than transactional sales.

How is sustainability influencing Dingli’s product roadmap?
Sustainability is central to our future strategy. We are steadily transitioning from conventional diesel machines to electric, hybrid and mild-hybrid platforms. Lithium-ion battery-based solutions are now available across several product categories, including boom lifts. This shift supports lower emissions, quieter operation and improved suitability for urban and indoor applications.

What has been the response at Excon 2025?
The response has been encouraging, with growing interest in electric and hybrid platforms alongside traditional models. Customers are increasingly evaluating AWPs not only on initial cost but also on operating efficiency, sustainability and aftersales support, which aligns well with our approach.
